Oh, you know you want to!

C’mon… resurrect the Bad Tattoos page. That was by far your best work. Your commentary was classic, and deliciously evil!

The main page is still on archive:

I didnt take it down. It was the webmaster’s decision, and I did not have any say in it.

  3. Steven Says:

um, no, it was BMEzine’s decision to call you on your copyright infringement.

  4. z1ny Says:

How is that copyright infringement if it’s original work (her own commentary) and satire, which is protected freedom of speech. The people that posted those photos posted them in public forums, and she’s not making any financial gain from them.
BMEzine did not create or own the photos, they were just a venue to display them, how do they have exclusive right to them?

  5. Emily Says:

It wasnt BME. It was some guy named Chris who said he was a lawyer that wasnt that I called out on it.

I think one of his tattoos was on there and he was just pissed about it.

I wasnt trying to be mean Steven, I was just sayin’.

  6. Emily Says:

Oh, and I dont know, z1ny. I did not get the photos directly from bme. I found them posted in other areas, sometimes by the people themselves on forums, or their myspaces, and made fun of them.

I dont know this stuff, I just make fun of it.

And then some half italian named Chris messed with it.

  7. Steven Says:

If nothing else, the images had a BMEzine logo on them which is copyrighted. You’ll have to go read the legalese on their site, I’m sure they have something about no distribution. It’s not exactly a public forum, since it requires membership to view everything. I didn’t know that about it not being real correspondence from them, I just took it down or had her take it down because I was tired of issues like that happening. It definitely sounds plausible that he was just mad about being made fun of, which is funny.

Anyway, freedom of speech doesn’t mean a whole lot in this post-DMCA world, it’s pretty simple for somebody to shut you down or even sue you, and it’s expensive to defend regardless of innocence. If you’d like to take the risk and setup a site for her to do that then I can probably find an archived copy of the files. Maybe.
