Shark hunting is illegal in Georgia because sharks live off the Georgia coast. You can test this by going to Savannah; then jump in the water, cut yourself somehow, and wait. Please do this so you can see the sharks.

Griffin isn’t anywhere near the ocean though, so probably they were pet sharks. People do keep the small shark types as pets like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacktip_reef_shark

I’m guessing the teeth were ripped out so they could sell them or keep them as neat objects to have.
