hoorah for blood
In skills lab today we had to start IVs. It was my first time doing it to someone else. It was sort of like doing a blood draw. I got it on the first try. My partner had to stick me twice, once in each hand.

A one-stick IV is a very good thing for a patient. Good for you and all of the patients you will tend to in the future!
Extra holes in a patient are just more annoyance as s/he recovers. I have far more failed IV scars then surgical scars (Well maybe not FAR more, but I resent them more because they hurt (Post-op I’ve got enough of that!) and did not do any good).
